Mrs. Elizabeth A. Carroll of Wilmington passed away on September 2nd at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford following a short illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis X. Carroll. Born and raised in Somerville she was one of four children of the late Johanna (Cleary) and John F. Crowley.
"Mickey" as she was affectionately known by to her family and friends was a Wilmington resident for over fifty years. She enjoyed caring for her home and tending to her garden. She also enjoyed taking care of and spoiling her pet dog Max. However, her greatest joy came from her family and everything she did revolved around making sure that her home was a warm and inviting place for her family to be together and enjoy each others company.
In addition to her late husband and parents, Elizabeth is preceded in death by her grandson, Francis X. Carroll III, daughter-in-law, Betty-Ann Howell Carroll, sister, Marion Lacey, and brothers, John and William Crowley. She is survived by her son, Francis X. Carroll Jr. of Townsend and Donna M. Carroll of Wilmington. She is also survived by her grandson, Patrick J. Carroll of Townsend.
Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 374 Main St., WILMINGTON, Friday, September 7th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Dorothy Church, Main St., Wilmington, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Elizabeth's memory to the Charity of One's Choice or to the Francis X.
