Edith C. (Mucciarone) Morrissey, 94, of Hyde Park, formerly of Franklin died September 1 in the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham. She was the wife of the late Robert Morrissey who died in 1988.
Born in Franklin, March 5, 1918, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Louise (Bertone) Mucciarone, Mrs. Morrissey was raised in Franklin and had lived in Hyde Park for the past 60 years.
Mrs. Morrissey had been a caterer whose specialty was fancy sandwiches.
She also worked as a care taker for the elderly.
Edith loved the Ocean and being with her granddaughters and her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her children, Peter Morrissey of Foxboro, Kathleen Morrissey of Foxboro and Joseph Morrissey of Hudson, New Hampshire.
She is also survived by her sisters Helen Morrissey of Franklin and Mary Gregoire of Franklin.
She was the sister of the late Anthony “Skinny” Mucciarone and Joseph Mucciarone.
She is also survived by her granddaughters Carley and Abigail Morrissey.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 4 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin 131 Main St. in Franklin at 8:15 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church at 9:00.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Monday from 5-8 p.m.
