Howard S. Burkhart

Howard S. Burkhart , 84 of Anderson, went to be with the Lord, January 17, 2011. Born in Merino, CO December 28, 1927 to Hubert & Gladys Burkhart. Howard married Ruth M. (Johnson) at the Park Place Church of God, March 26th, 1950. They resided in Anderson where Howard worked at Delco-Remy and retired after 39 years. He attended Madison Park Church of God. Together they raised their family to follow Christ. He enjoyed gardening, farming and spending time with family.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth M. (Johnson) Burkhart of Anderson; their four children: Rev. Stephen (Sharon) Burkhart of Michigan, David (Donna) Burkhart of California, Marilyn (Gary) Shields of Ohio, and Timothy (Marisa) of Indiana; thirteen grandchildren: Tamara (Mike) Farley, Rachel (Brice) Smith, Leah (Casey) Sprunger, Matthew, Stacey, Garrett, and Anthoney Burkhart, Jannai (Bethany) Shields, Javan and Lael Shields, Miriam, Hannah and Sarah Burkhart; three great grandchildren, Brandon and Emily Smith, Ellie Sprunger; brother Richard (Joyce) Burkhart of California and his sister JoAnne (Bob) Parks of Colorado.
The visitation is from 4-8pm on Friday, at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service, 229 S. Rangeline Rd. Funeral service will be Saturday at 11am at Madison Park Church of God, 6607 Providence Drive, Anderson, IN with Rev. Jim Lyon officiating. The burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
