Harry M. Meredith, age 89, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, August 31, 2012.
He was born on May 1, 1923 In Shrewsbury, KY. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, on the USS Chaffie (Dc-230). He was a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church and he was a Mason.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret B. Meredith; son, Howard Lee Meredith, and granddaughter, Lisa Meredith Burns.
He is survived by daughter, Diane Meredith Goodall (Barry), grandchildren, Barry Goodall, Jr., Sarah Goodall Wright, David Meredith and Richard Hurst along with 8 great-grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and the wonderful caring staff at the Good Samaritan Society of Jeffersontown.
Funeral service 10 am, Monday at Owen Funeral Home - Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Rd. Visitation 2-8 pm, Sunday. Burial Valley of Rest Cemetery, LaGrange , KY.
