Elizabeth Lavon (Ball) Hopkins, age 78 of Anderson died February 9, 2012 at St. John's Hospital after an extended illness.
Elizabeth was born in Summitville on September 4, 1933 to Julius and Audrey (Derstler) Ball and graduated from Alexandria High School in 1951.
She worked with her husband at Ray Hopkins Photography for 30 years and was a salesperson for Stanley Thomas Acoustic Audio for 7 years.
She attended Madison Park Church of God and was the former president of "Remember the Men of Vietnam". She loved her grandchildren; great grandchildren. She enjoyed watching game shows. She liked to spend time shopping with her friend Shirley.
She is survived by her daughter Marsha Duckworth; 5 grandchildren Tommy (Jill) Fanning; Casey (Mark) Hughes; Jason (Leah) Fleetwood; Brandy Werner and Megan (Travis) Smith; several great grandchildren, her sister Evelyn L. Walpole; very special friend Shirley Lewis and friends, Thomas Fanning and Mike and Sandy Wilson and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Pastor Ray Hopkins; her son Charles "Chuck" Werner; son-in-law David Duckworth and her brother Carroll Ball.
Services will be Wednesday, February 15 at 6:00 P.M. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Mike Schwartz officiating.
The visitation will be on Wednesday, February 15, from 4-6 P.M. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria at a later date.
