D V Stennis
April 1, 1932 - Feb. 13, 1912

D V Stennis, 79, of Anderson, died February 13, 2012 at St. John's Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born on April 1, 1932 in DeKalb, Mississippi the son of Dave and Lillie (Grady) Stennis. He worked in construction and later for Guide Lamp Division of General Motors. He served in the US Army and was a member of the American Legion Post.

He is survived by wife Vera (Jones) Stennis, 4 children, Anthony (Melva) Stennis of Valrico, Florida, Kathy (Briston) Sample of Avon, Vonda (John) Clemons of Anderson and Vickie Archey of Anderson. 9 grandchildren: Antonio Perry, Uri Fuller, Shannon Bullock, Amar Archey, Dalika Stennis, Atriche Archey, Nigel Stennis, Aspen Clemons, and A'Nell Clemons. 8 great grandchildren. 2 Brothers, Ozell Stennis and Robert Stennis and 1 sister, Maxine Wheeler all of Anderson; several nieces and nephews; special cousin, Guydale Nave; special nieces, Renee' Jones, Shareeka Walker, Shirley D. Williams, and Gertha Hill; and special friends, Arnold Gunter, Walter Moore and WC Clay.

Preceded in death by 13 siblings and his parents

Services will be Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 12 Noon at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service.
Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery with military graveside rites. Friends may call on Saturday from 10 AM until time of the funeral at the funeral home.
