Obituary

Dr. Nicholas Sophocles Pancol, MD, 68, Washington Township, Dayton, Ohio died February 17, 2012. Dr. Pancol, beloved son of Stella (Plackas) and Sophocles Pancol, was born May 10, 1943 in Anderson, Indiana.
Dr. Pancol graduated from Anderson High School in 1961; he attended the University of Dayton and went on to receive his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1972. He completed his residency at Franciscan Medical Center then practiced for 29 years as an Emergency Physician at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Dayton, Ohio where he served as the Executive Director of Emergency Room Physicians.
Dr. Pancol was a Clinical Assistant Professor at Wright State School of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine, Middletown Regional Hospital. He was the first SWAT team emergency physician for the Montgomery County Sheriffs department. Most recently he practiced at the Fayette Memorial Hospital in Connersville, Indiana as an Emergency Physician.
Dr. Pancol was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Dayton, Ohio.
His father, Sophocles Pancol of Anderson, Indiana, preceded him in death in 1994.
His mother Stella Pancol of Anderson, Indiana; numerous loving cousins and friends survive him.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM February 21, 2012 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, 220 S. Rangeline Road, Anderson, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held 9:30 AM, February 22, 2012 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with the Rev. Fr. Mark Emroll of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church officiating; burial to follow at Anderson Memorial Park.
