Bonnie Lorena (Wire) Menefee
March 23, 1926 to February 26, 2012
Bonnie Menefee, Anderson, IN 85, passed away Sunday, February 26, at Bethany Pointe after an extended illness.
Bonnie was born March 23, 1926 in North Vernon, IN to Mose and Blanche Anna (Day) Wire.
Bonnie lived and attended school in Anderson and Noblesville, IN. She graduated from Noblesville High School in 11944 and attended Indiana Business College in Anderson, IN. Eventually becoming employed by Delco Remy retiring in 1983 with 34 years of service. Bonnie attended Mount Pleasant Community Church in Daleville, IN until her residence at Bethany Pointe Health Campus in 2008.
After retiring with her third husband Ed Menefee, they became active members and held offices in Central Indiana Auto Club, Model A and Model T Clubs. They planned and traveled with auto tours in the USA. Bonnie was active in the Richland Township Home Ec Club and the 40 and 8 La Femmes organization. She is a member of the Independent Order of Foresters which she attended many of their activities over the last 40 years.
Bonnie loved and held dearly her husbands, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her brothers and sisters and came from a close knit clan. She tried her best to keep track of her nieces and nephews. She loved her friends and loved hosting Christmas for family and friends at her home. She was a precious person with a most beautiful smile. She was inspirational in her advise. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends and we celebrate her life in remembrance.
She is survived by her four daughters and one son: Deborah Carmack of Bolingbrook, IL ByVonda (Frank) Thomas of Anderson; Mary Arnold of Indianapolis; Lorene (Dominique) Colgan of Indianapolis and Eric (Ramona) Bauer of Anderson; stepchildren: Terry (Debbie) Pratt; Steven Menefee and Tommy Menefee; grandchildren: Tracy (Dan) Vogan of Plainfield, IL; Larry Lee (Lorraine) Carmack of Aurora, IL; Anthony (Rachel) Lewellen of Los Angeles, CA; Thomas Lewellen of Indianapolis; Chris (Mickie) Daunoras of Indianapolis; Maren (David) Evans of Russiaville; Cameron Colgan; Mitchel Colgan; Hayden Colgan; Kara Colgan of Indianapolis; Paul (Rosie) Parkhurst ; Heather Bauer; Joseph Bauer and Tessa Bauer all of Anderson; step grandchildren Terrel Hollenback; Rickie Hollenback; Darla Malone; Jimmy Pratt; Drew Pratt; Devon Menefee and John Menefee all of Anderson; 19 great grandchildren: Ricky Hollenback 2nd; Kyla Hollenback; Hayli Cheri Poor; Faith Parkhurst; Ethan Hollenback; Tristan Hollenback; Jocelynn Hollenback; Damien Phares; Serenity Bauer; Ayvri Suelynn Bauer all of Anderson; Tyler Thomas Vogen; Alexandria Marie Vogen; Jenna Rose Vogen all of Plainfield, IL; Nathaniel Wayne Carmack; Brandon Thomas Carmack all of Aurora, IL; Ira Kane Evans of Russiaville; Brayden Pratt; Levi Pratt and soon to arrive Agatha Grace Lewellen all of Los Angeles, CA; four brothers David Dean (Wilma) Wire of Indianapolis; Thomas Layne (Sandra) Wire of Noblesville; Theodore Lynn Wire of Anderson; Michael Melvin (Cindy) Wire of Noblesville; Michael Melvin (Cindy) Wire of Noblesville; two sisters Jewell Jean Eason of Westfield; Linda Suzanne (Fred) Tucker of Fishers; former husband Larry Bauer of Bradenton, FL; best of friends Beulah McCulley of Daleville. She is also survived by the many caregivers and members of Bethany Pointe staff who gave their devoted attention and caring of her in her last five years of life.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands Delmar Shultz (1981) and Marion Ed Menefee in (1997); her sons-in-law Gary Daunoras in 2000; Dan Arnold in 2006; David Lewellen in 2002 and Larry Carmack in 2011; stepson Robert Louis Menefee in 1991; brothers Benjamin Luther Wire in 1998, Darrel Emerson Wire in 2009; sisters Edith Mozella Hinshaw in 1981; Evelyn Juanita Fite Fisher in 2005; Rebecca Jacquelyne Shelburne in 2011.
Services will be Thursday, March 1 at 11:00 A.M. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Chaplains Bracken and Terri McCurdy officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Noblesville, IN.
The visitation will be on Wednesday, February 29 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM.
