Charles W. "Chick" Benbow
March 28, 1919 to February 27, 2012
Charles W. "Chick" Benbow, age 92 of Anderson died February 27, 2012 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus after a brief illness.
He was born March 28, 1919 in Anderson, IN to Charles S. and Mabel (Leer) Benbow. Graduating from Anderson High School.
He was a printer for Anderson Newspapers over 40 years.
He served in the US Army during WW II.
He was an avid golfer and bowler.
He is survived by his son Charles R. "Randy" (Carmen) Benbow of Minneapolis, MN and his daughter Beth A. Doub of Anderson; 2 grandchildren Charles A. "Chuck" Benbow of Newport News, VA and Christopher D. Benbow of Minneapolis, MN; 2 great grandchildren Christiana Jade Benbow and Piper Lorileigh Benbow both of Newport News, VA and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Evelyn Maxine (Kilgore) Benbow whom he married March 18, 1951 died September 28, 2001 after 50 years of marriage; his 2 brothers and his sister.
Services will be at noon on Friday, March 2, 2012 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Jeff Bower officiating. Burial will be in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria.
The visitation will be from 10 AM until the service. Military graveside rites will be given by VFW Post 266 Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be given to Anderson University School of Music.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Crown Pointe Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing facility at Bethany Pointe.
