WORCESTER___Salvatore J. Giangrande, 91, of 79 Orton St., Ext., died Saturday May 22 in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center.
He leaves his wife of 68 years, Maria T. (Zangrillo) Giangrande; two daughters, Frances T. Giangrande of North Grafton; and Pamela A. Zalauskas and her husband, Leonard, of Worcester; three sisters, Lucy Bono of Virginia, Pauline Marullo of Florida and Mary Giangrande of New York; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and nephews and nieces. He was born in Manhattan, New York, son of John and Frances (Benninatte) Giangrande and lived in New York most of his life. He later lived eight years in Sarasota, Fl., and eleven years here.
Mr. Giangrande was a manager for live poultry markets 23 years and was also a meat inspector for many years and retired several years ago. Salvatore enjoyed playing cards, working in his yard and he was a fisherman.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday May 26 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 12 Noon in St. Casimir’s Church, 41 Providence St. Burial will follow the Mass.
