James Edwin "Jim" Cheever
May 16, 1939 to April 6, 2012

James Edwin "Jim" Cheever, age 72, of Anderson died April 6, 2012 at his vacation home in Monticello, IN after a 4 week illness.

He was born May 16, 1939 in Anderson, IN to Londa William and Bernadine (Bailey) Cheever.

He graduated from Highland High School in 1958.
He served in the US Army from 1958-1960.

He was a meter reader for Anderson City Utilities for 34 years before retiring in September of 2001.

He attended Eastview Church of the Nazarene. He was a member of Elks, Moose Lodge, Eagles Lodge, and Veteran of Madison County. He was a lifetime member of Local #108. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. He was an avid sports fan.

He is survived by his children, Riki Leann Cheever of Vienna, Austria; James Berry (Yuko) Cheever of Chicago, IL, Jason Edwin Cheever of Anderson and Terry (Annette) Franklin Cheever of Martinsville; 4 grandchildren, Cody Cheever and Connor Cheever of Martinsville, Hanna Rodgers of Indianapolis, and Nico Cheever of Chicago, IL; 3 Sisters, Mary Anne (Orville Kay) Sheward of Pinellas Park, FL, Nancy Currey and Jody (Ron) Tischler all of Anderson; 4 brothers, Harold (Janet) Cheever of Anderson, Dave (Susie) Cheever of Zephryhills, FL, Gordon (Anita) Cheever of Muncie, and Steve (Cindy Ripberger) Cheever of Anderson; mother of his children, Sharon Chun of Las Vega, NV; 2 longtime friends, Larry Fricke and Dave Mundy both of Anderson; sister-in-law, Joan Cheever of Anderson; brothers-in-law, Kenny White and Loran Penrod both of Anderson, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Lonadine White and Patsy Penrod; brothers, Bill and Richard Cheever.

A special thanks to Dr. Mares, Dr. Vazquez and critical care nurses at St. John's Hospital and his private caregiver, Michelle Applegate of White Oak Health Campus in Monticello, IN.

Services will be Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 1:00pm at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Tom Chapman officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.

The visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial Contributions may be given to Riley's Children's Hospital.
