Alberta Margaret (Schmidt) Maxwell, 83 of Anderson died at her daughter's residence in Anderson on May 4, 2012 after an extended illness.
Alberta was born October 21, 1928 in Anderson to Albert and Lenora (Brattain) Schmidt.
She was primarily a homemaker, but worked as a cashier at Ranch Market and Matthews in the late 1960's & 70's.
She was a member of Euchre Club; an accomplished piano and organ player; she loved to cook, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed traveling.
She enjoyed her pets especially Rusty, Pattie and Chelsea.
She is survived by her daughter Vicky Robinson (husband Jeff Pettigrew) of Anderson; daughter-in-law Rosie Maxwell of Alexandria; 6 grandchildren Shonda (Jason) Kellams of Middletown; Shelley (Chad) Riseden of Gas City; Casey (Shaina) Robinson of London, OH; Jim Maxwell of Kentwood, MI; Joey Maxwell of Anderson and Steve Maxwell of Kentwood, MI; 8 great grandchildren Indica Kellams; Kiona Kellams; Tommy & David Kellams; Rachel Riseden; Caleb Robinson; Britni Maxwell and Melanie Maxwell; 2 special nieces Nancy Jaynes of Anderson; Carol (Cliff) Brumback of SC; and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Garland W. Maxwell in 1993; son Larry Maxwell in 2007; infant brother Lawrence Schmidt; great grandson Colten Robinson and lifelong friend Martha (High) Tobin;
Services will be 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 8 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Tim Maxwell officiating.
Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
The visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Madison County Humane Society.
