Gary Lee Smith
Feb. 3, 1950 to July 4, 2012
After a courageous battle with a long illness Gary went peacefully to his Heavenly Father with his dear wife Peggy at his side.
Gary was born on February 3, 1950 in Anderson, IN to Thomas and Margaret (Ryan) Smith.
He worked at Delphi for 36 years.
He was a Stephen Minister at Madison Park Church of God. Gary's faith and courage were inspiring to all who witnessed them. People who never even knew Gary, but read his on-line testimony, were strengthened by his faith. All who knew Gary loved him.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 16 years Peggy L. (Lowe) Smith of Anderson whom he married August 15, 1996; 4 children Jennifer Smith of Dayton, OH; Joshua Smith of Alexandria VA; Misti (Shawn) Moore of Alexandria, IN; and Joe (Lisa) Dailey of Markleville, IN; brother James (Linda) Smith of Anderson; 9 grandchildren 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Thomas Smith, Jr.
Services will be Monday, July 9, at 1:00 P.M. at Madison Park Church of God with Rev. Mike Schwartz officiating.
Friends may call Sunday July 8 from 2-6 P.M. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service and 1 hour before the service at the church on Monday.
Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Neurosurgery Foundation at Goodman Campbell or Madison Park Church of God.
