Dolly J. (Houchin) Milam, 92, of Virginia Beach, died at her daughter's residence in Anderson, Indiana.
Dolly was born March 27, 1920 in Cass, Pocahontas County, West Virginia to Elmer John and Mattie (Beverage) Houchin
She was a seamstress at a bridal shop. She was a secretary for the War Department at the Pentagon during WW II. She and Herb owned, operated and sold stainless steel waterless cookware.
She is survived by her daughters Carla (Steve) Bowser of Anderson and Chris (Jim) Evans of Portsmouth, VA; her sister Ruby Phillips of Clarksville, VA; 5 grandchildren Autumn Elsworth; Lesley Elsworth; Colin Bowser; James Evans, Jr. and Ashley Evans; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband J. Herbert Milam May 16, 2001, her parents and 2 brothers and a sister.
Services will be on Monday, August 6, 2012 at 10:00 am at Altmeyer Funeral Home in Virginia Beach, VA. with Rev. Goff officiating.
Burial will be in Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery.
The visitation will be Sunday, August 5, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
