Obituary

Oldest son of the late Henry and Betty Chappuis Morgan, Harry started his farm chores at the age of 6 driving the hay truck. As a young teenager, Harry and his cousin Bobby competed in horse shows at local fairs.

Later on he worked for the Town of Ledyard as road foreman. He became foreman for Christy Hill Builders and then owner at which time the business became HLM Developments. He continued building and developing in Ledyard and towns beyond, including Fairway Drive, Colby Drive and Chriswood Trace. It was also at this time he created the two wells on Fairway Drive which became Southeastern CT Water Authority.

His personal joy was becoming a private pilot and flying his own planes. He was a member of the Ace Aero Club on the Gallup Farm in Voluntown and enjoyed the weekly breakfast on Sundays and the many good times with his flying buddies.

He leaves his wife Carol Stanley Morgan, sons Dan (Roslind) Morgan of Beaverton Or. and Tod and grandsons Giles and Eli of Preston. Stepchildren Dawn Sylvia Quirolgico of Milford NH, John Scott (Lisa) Sylvia of Preston, Mark Sylvia of Groton, and Holly Sylvia Gagnon of Ledyard. His sisters Janet Morgan Mol of Brooklyn NY, Patricia Morgan (John) Statham of Higganum, Sheila Morgan Hatmaker of Natural Bridge Va, and his brother Richard (Deb) Morgan of Ledyard.

A Morgan and friends gathering will be held on Sunday September 9 at 2pm at the Vineyards on the Morgan Farm. Casual Attire please. All services will be private.
