Obituary

WEBSTER – Edward J. “Champ” Ciesluk, Sr., 85, of Webster, died Wednesday, August 29, 2012 in Ichabod Washburn Hospice Residence, Worcester, after a period of declining health.
He leaves his wife of 31 years, Arlene J. (Quigley) Ciesluk; 2 sons, Edward Ciesluk, Jr. and his wife Debra of Charlton and David Ciesluk and his companion Maureen Horan of Dudley; 3 stepchildren, Keith D. Bellerose and his wife Dawn of Anchorage, Alaska, Michelle M. Bellerose and her companion Ron Donais, and Brian T. Bellerose and his wife Donna, all of Webster; 8 grandchildren, Thomas and Megan Ciesluk, Destinee and Derik Bellerose, David and Joshua Paradis, and Nicholas and Jennifer Bellerose; 3 great grandchildren, Mariah, Joshua Jr. and Madilynn; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Phyllis Czernicki, Jenny Johnson and Hattie Wojciechowski and by 3 brothers, Walter “Patsy” Ciesluk, Isadore Ciesluk and Anthony Ciesluk.
He was born and raised in Dudley, the youngest of the 7 children of Vincent N. and Mary T. (Makulska) Ciesluk and lived in Webster and Dudley all his life.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Ciesluk was a finish inspector at Wyman Gordon Company in Worcester for over 30 years before retiring in 1980. He was a member of Saint Louis Church and the Dudley PNA. He enjoyed playing cards, visiting the casinos and family gatherings. He attended most of his grandchildren’s functions and was their strongest fan.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, September 4, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. The Webster-Dudley Veterans Council will perform the military honors at the cemetery. Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, September 3, in the funeral home. Donations in his name may be made to Saint Louis School Endowment Fund, 15 Lake St., Webster, MA 01570.
