Dr. David F Ditmore of Needham, 74, died at home on Friday May 21st of pancreatic cancer. Born in Rochester, Minnesota he was the son of the late Dr. David C and Margaret (Davidson ) Ditmore. He graduated from Choate, class of 1947; Wesleyan University, 1951, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. While in Wesleyan, he was a member of the Little Three Fencing Team Championship. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Dental School in 1957 and was a member of Xi Psi Phi fraternity.Dr. Ditmore practiced General Dentistry in Kenmore Square and in Brookline for 32 years and was a member of the Metropolitan Dental Society, New England Dental Society and the Massachusetts Dental Society.He was an active member of the Highland Glee Club of Needham from 1989-2002, a member of the Needham Retired Men’s Club and the Great Plain Squares Square Dance Club. A true gentleman his hobbies were bridge, crossword puzzles, New England Patriots, reading, fishing, travel and Square Dancing.David is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Carol (Myers) Ditmore, his son Kinsey Alan Ditmore and his wife Susan of Franklin, MA and his loving grandchildren, Cheryl, Christina and John David. David is also survived by his sister Mary Mathews and her husband Bob of Westford TX. Funeral Services at the Newton Cemetery Chapel 791 Walnut St. Newton MA on Tuesday May 25th at 11:00 AM.
