Artur Manuel DaPonte, age 50 of Fall River passed away August 27, 2012. Born in Candelária, São Miguel, Açores, he was the husband of Maria (Carvalho) DaPonte and son of the late James and Natalie (DaPonte) DaPonte. Artur was employed as a construction worker for Cicconi & Sons, was a member of the Affonso Costa Republican Club and a parishioner of St. Michael Church.
Artur was the father of Jason Da Ponte (fiancée Heather Bergeron) of Fall River and Jessica DaPonte of Fall River; brother of Connie Costa (husband Miguel) of Fall River and the late Maria José Pereira; grandfather of Camren Jason and Khloe Marie DaPonte and an uncle to several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River FRIDAY at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 9 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours THURSDAY 4-8 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com
