Shannon Tennile Saylor, 36, of Tifton died Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 31, 2012, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Tifton. Bishop Derrell Spikes will officiate with burial to follow in Cumorah Cemetery in Douglas. Chad O’Neal, Tony Coker, Gary Coker, Austin Martin, Tyrone Dean and Lewis Dean will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 30, 2012, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Miss Saylor will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Miss Saylor was born on January 17, 1976 in Tifton and was the daughter of Sharon Owens Merritt of Tifton. She was a waitress at the Lamplighter Pub and was the former owner of Betty Bussey’s Home Daycare Center. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Michael Merritt.
In addition to her mother, Miss Saylor is survived by one brother, Michael S. Merritt of Tifton.
