Obituary

BROGAN, Margaret E. ‘Jean’ (Harlow) of Winthrop, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 25, 2012. Born Dec. 21, 1917, in Irasburg, VT., she was the youngest of four to the late Arthur and Maude (Dow) Harlow. Beloved wife of the late James E. Brogan. Devoted and loving mother of Sue E. Carfagna and her husband Richard of North Andover, Kathy Chiasson and her husband Gary of Duxbury, William Brogan of Saugus, John Brogan and his wife Karen of Winthrop, and the late Margaret and James “Tim” Brogan. Dear sister of the late Helen, Gerald, and Kenneth. Adored grandmother of Cain Brogan, Richard and Marissa Carfagna, Ellie and Laurie Brogan, Hunter Chiasson, Patrick and Daniel Brogan, Matthew, Kevin, Zachary, and Renee Brogan. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. WINTHROP, on Thurs, August 30, at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will be in Winthrop Cemetery. Relatives and friends can honor and remember Margaret’s life by gathering for visiting hours at the funeral home on Weds. only, 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Perkins Institute for the Blind 175 North Beacon St. Watertown, MA 02472 or to the Macular Degeneration Foundation P.O. Box 531313, Henderson NV, 89053. Jean will always be remembered as a very generous, thoughtful and loving person. She always cherished the time spent with her family.
