Obituary

Methuen - Dianne E. (Kania) DeCourcy, 63, of Methuen died Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Lawrence General Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a valiant fight with cancer.

Dianne was the only daughter of the late William and Emelia (Sitko) Kania. Dianne was born in Lawrence, MA on September 22, 1948 and raised in Methuen. She graduated from Methuen High School in 1967 and attended Bentley University in Waltham, MA. She worked for Trinity Ambulance Service for 8 years until the time of her death.

Diane was a communicant of St. Monica's Church in Methuen, MA. She was an avid and passionate golfer and was a former club champion at Crystal Springs Golf Club in Haverhill.

She is survived by her three sons, Mark, Scott, and Brian DeCourcy, of Andover; her former husband, Jack DeCourcy, also of Andover; her cousins, Christine Gurian of Haverhill and Valerie Konar of Marlboro; and her close friends and golf partners, Judy Gagnon, Justine O'Neill, and Charlet Hamilton.

Family and friends are planning to honor and celebrate Dianne’s life by gathering for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Monica’s Church, located at 212 Lawrence St. in Methuen on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen. Guests will be warmly received in the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, located at 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen on Tuesday, August 28th from 5 – 8 PM. Those who wish to remember Dianne by making a memorial contribution in her memory are kindly asked to consider the American Cancer Society, Memorial Giving Program, at 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01710. The Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home is honored to assist the DeCourcy family with the arrangements.
