Santa “Sandy” Salvetti, 88, of Kennebunk, Maine and former longtime resident of Natick, passed away on August 26, 2012 at Atria Kennebunk. She was the beloved wife of the late Louie Salvetti who passed away in 1979 and with whom she shared 29 years of marriage.
Born in Avellino, Italy the daughter of the late Angelo and Philomena (Picciocci) Raia, Santa came to the United States in 1928 settling in Clifton, New Jersey. After marrying her beloved husband in 1950 they settled in Watertown and then Natick. She was employed as a waitress at the Wellesley Inn for 40 years. In her retirement, Santa enjoyed being an active member of the Kennedy Senior Center in Natick as well as assisting those in need through the Meals on Wheels program. She was a very kind woman who was always known to help others.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Rubbicco and her husband Anthony of Rye, NH; her “daughters-by-choice”, Isabel Delcore of Woburn, MA and Joyce Nelson of Kennebunkport, ME; her sister, Tessie Coogan of Holly Springs, NC; and her niece Christine Moore of Holly Springs, NC. She was predeceased by her son Louis Salvetti in 2011.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Salvetti’s funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. (at Natick Common) Natick on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 10:00 AM to be followed by her Mass of Christian Burial in St. Linus Church, 119 Hartford St. Natick at 11:00 AM.
