WEBSTER – L. Sylvio Belisle, age 93, of 85 Park Avenue, died Monday, May 17, at UMass Memorial Healthcare, Worcester. His wife of 62 years, Marie Ange (Morse) Belisle, died in 2002.
He leaves a daughter, Sylvia D. Belisle of Milford, NH; 2 granddaughters, Dawn Cowled and Angelique Wright, both of New Hampshire; 4 great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by 2 brothers and 5 sisters.
He was born in Worcester, son of Nazaire and Marie (Charbonneau) Belisle.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He also served in the U. S. Marine Corps from 1929 to 1933.
Mr. Belisle worked for nearly 51 years in the printing business. At age 14, he became a “printer’s devil” at the now defunct Stobbs Press. He was then general manager at LaVigne Press, retiring in 1975.
He was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and a life member of its League of the Sacred Heart.
A memorial Mass will be held Friday, May 28, at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The family suggests donations be made to Saint Anne’s School Student Aide Program, PO Box 818, Webster, MA 01570 Scanlon Funeral Service, East Main Street, is directing arrangements.
