Parker, Richard J., Sr. of Halifax, formerly of Pembroke, August 21, 2012 at the age of 80. Husband of Martha Rollins. Husband of the late Hildred Purdy Parker. Father of Sue Ann Quigley and her husband Patrick, Richard J. Parker Jr. and his wife Cindy, Neil D. Parker and his partner Richard Hall, Jay L. Parker and his wife Kim, Lee A. Parker and his wife Robin and Zoe Parker. Grandfather to four and Great Grandfather to seven. Richard was born on December 21, 1931 in Earlville, New York. He was a paratrooper with 508 Airborne Regiment Combat Team in Fort Benning, GA. Richard fought in the Korean War and he earned the stripes of a Corporal. Richard was a Union Carpenter with Union 33. He enjoyed his retirement years, summers in Halifax and winters in Davenport, FL. Richard leaves behind many other family and friends that will truly miss him.
Visiting hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St. Rte 139, Marshfield on Sunday, August 26, 2012 from 12p.m. to 2 p.m. followed by a service at 2:00 p.m.
