Marguerite (MacLeod) Spofford a longtime Salem, New Hampshire resident died Wednesday morning at Salemhaven Nursing Home, she was 97 years old.
She was born in Medford, MA and had resided in Salem for the past 39 years.
Before her retirement she worked as a legal secretary at Withington, Cross, Park & McCann Law Firm in Boston, MAShe was a member of the First Congregational Church in Salem, New Hampshire where she was active with church functions and a member of the Philathea Class.
She was the widow of Arthur Spofford
and is survived by2 sons, Richard Spofford of Hampstead, NH and Donald Spofford and his wife Sherry of Lander, Wyoming
1 sister, Barbara Hodgshon of Florida
5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren several nieces & nephews.
And close friends Nancy, Margie, Dottie & Frannie
Funeral services will be Monday at 10:00am at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home 214 Main Street in Salem, New Hampshire followed by burial in Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody, MA.
Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
