Michael Giso, 87 of Somerville formerly of the West End of Boston died Monday in the Lahey Clinic Medical Center Burlington, after a brief illness.
Born in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Emanuella (Giuggio) Giso.
Mr. Giso was a laborer in the Construction Industry and worked for various construction companies in the Boston and Cambridge area. He also was a union member of Local 151.Mr. Giso was the beloved husband of Josephine (DeStefano) Giso. Devoted father of Marie Giso of Revere, Michael Giso Jr. and his wife Andrea of Somerville, Laurie Bologna and her husband Joseph of Methuen. Loving grandfather of Jamie and Cinzia Bologna. Brother of the late Frank Giso, Nick Giso, and Mary Ciampa. Uncle of Joey Ciampa also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 AM in St. Raphael Church, 514 High Street, Medford the Rev. Kevin G. Toomey officiating. Interment will be private.
Friends may visit Wednesday from 4 thru 9 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
