Obituary

William Gerald “Jerry”/”Bill” Cofer, age 67, of Norwich, passed away Sunday at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London.

He was born in Searcy, Arkansas on September 3, 1944 the son of the late Hartsell William Cofer Sr. and Sophie Nasiatka Cofer. Raised in Old Mystic, he attended local schools and graduated from Fitch High School. After receiving his education, he served the U.S. Army National Guard for 6 years as a Transportation Supply & Parts Specialist.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a maintenance technician at Foxwoods Resort Casino. He previously was employed as an Auto body technician Foreman at the former Cadrello’s in Waterford.

He is survived by his brother, Hartsell Cofer Jr. and his wife Adele (DiBiagio) Cofer of Norwich.

His family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Thursday from 6-8pm. A Graveside Funeral Service will be conducted at Elm Grove Cemetery, Rte. 27, Mystic on Friday at 12noon.
