Thomas R. Burrell, IV, 65, of New Bedford, formerly of Westport died Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Thomas R. and Elizabeth M. (Williamson) Burrell, III, he had lived in Westport Point most of his life until moving to New Bedford. Mr. Burrell was the owner/operator of the former Off Shore Original, Inc. A veteran of the Vietnam era, he served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Little Compton United Congregational Church. Tad was a graduate of Friends Academy, Cushing Academy and attended the University of Vermont. He enjoyed fishing and boating, and was an accomplished guitar and banjo musician. Tad also pursued woodworking as a hobby.
Survivors include two sisters: Martha M. Foster of Southbury, CT and Elizabeth P. Burrell of Jacksonville, FL; two nieces: Lisa Cipriani (Larry) and Susan Driscoll (Thomas) of New Fairfield, CT; and a dear family friend: Richard Earle of Westport. Tad is also survived by seven grand nieces and nephews.
