Obituary

Manchester– Florence Y. Cote, 93, died August 14, 2012 at Maple Leaf Healthcare Center following a brief illness.
She was born in Manchester on June 9, 1919 the daughter of Alphonse and Marie Anne (Cote) Martel. She had been a lifelong resident of Manchester.
Prior to her retirement she had worked for several shoe manufacturers including Johnson Shoe and Myrna Shoe.
She was a member of St. Anne Sodality at St. Theresa’s parish until it closed, and then became a parishioner of St. Anthony Parish
She loved having fun, enjoyed baseball, going on her Sunday rides, and playing in her Saturday pokeno tournaments with her friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Gerard Cote on July 16, 1979.
Family members include 2 daughters; Lorraine Cote of Manchester, Louise Rivard and her husband Dennis of Hooksett, 1 son; Raymond Cote and his fiancée Doreen Dubois of Buxton, ME., 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 3 sisters; Lucille Chouinard of Biddeford, ME., Yvette Vachon, Therese Poissant, both of Manchester and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also predeceased by her brothers, Gerard Martel, Eugene Martel, and brother Roger “Brother Alphonsus” Martel, and sister, Cecile Hamelin.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM in St. Anthony Church, Belmont and Harvard Sts.
Burial will follow in St. Augustin Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Sisters of the Precious Blood Monastery, 700 Bridge St. Manchester, NH 03104.
