LOWELL – Patricia C. (Moore) Chandler, age 81, a lifelong Lowell resident, died unexpectedly on Monday afternoon, August 13, at Lowell General Hospital, Saint’s Campus. She was the beloved wife of the late James Richard Chandler Sr., who died in August 2002.
She was born in Syracuse, NY, June 6, 1931, one of four children of the late James and Dorothy (Drais) Moore. She was raised in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School. She attended Massachusetts Memorial Hospital, to qualify as an R.N., and later attended Northeastern University. She worked at the former Saint John’s Hospital, at Raytheon’s West Andover facility, and at Heritage Nursing Care Center in Lowell. She also worked as the camp nurse at B.S.A. Camp Wah-Tut-CA in Northwood, NH.
She was a member of the Bingo Communities at the Tewks-Wilm Elks, the Lowell Elks, and St. John Evangelist, in No. Chelmsford. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Band Boosters, the Dracut Arts and Crafts Association, and the Tewksbury-Wilmington Emblem Club.
She and her sons were season ticket holders at the Lowell Spinners.
She is survived by three sons, Kevin M. Chandler and his wife Christa (Cowman) of Back Bay, Boston, James R. Chandler Jr. and his wife Mia (Marcos) of Lowell, and John R. Chandler of Lowell; three sisters, Jeanne Normandy of Andover, Sheila Elliot of Pelham, NH, and Maryellen Fleming and her husband John of Chelmsford; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also mother of the late Kathryn Chandler.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Friday, Aug. 17, in the Immaculate Conception Church, Lowell. Burial was at the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Chelmsford. Memorials to the Tewks-Wilm Emblem Club, Scholarship Fund C/O Lou Connolly, 777 South S., Tewksbury, MA 01876, will be appreciated.
