Obituary

Manchester– Robert A. Demers, 82, died August 11, 2012 at Ridgewood Healthcare Center following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Londonderry on January 11, 1930 the son of Exidas and Eva (Mailloux) Demers.
He served his country in the U. S. Army in the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal.
Prior to his retirement he owned and operated Demers Garden Center with a green thumb since its inception over 42 years ago.
He held membership with The League of One Thousand Men of the Sisters of the Precious Blood Monastery, American Legion Sweeney Post # 2, Domain of the Golden Dragon, and was a lifetime member of the NH Plant Growers Association.
He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They all meant the world to him.
Family members include his wife of nearly 60 years, Bertha R. (Davis) Demers of Manchester, 3 daughters; Diane Holmes and her husband Edwin of Londonderry, Joanne Bouchard and her husband Richard of Goffstown, Suzanne Chapdelaine and her fiancé, David Deshaies of Allenstown, 3 sons; Michael Demers and his wife Tina of Manchester, Robert Demers and his wife Jacqueline of Londonderry, Richard Demers and his wife Patti of Manchester, 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his sister Pauline Laframboise.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home 110 Bridge St.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM in St. Pius X Church, corner of Sarto St, and Candia Rd.
Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
