Mr. William W. "Smitty" Smith, 79, of Methuen, Massachusetts formerly of Haverhill, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 9th, 2012 at the Methuen Health and Rehabilitation Center.
William was born on March 27th, 1933 in Haverhill to the late Elizabeth M. Collins and was educated in the local schools of Haverhill, MA. He worked for Converse Rubber Company in Andover and later drove school buses for the Coppola's Bus Company for over 35 years until his retirement. He was a life time member of the Elks BPO 65 of Lawrence. According to his family he loved to cook and some of his special recipes were Hot Dog Soup, Bake Stuffed Peppers and his famous Meatloaf. He also enjoyed fixing watches and antiquing. He was a good hearted person and would do anything for anyone.
William's family would like to thank the staff of the Methuen Health and Rehabilitation for their wonderful care and compassion during his stay.

As well as several nieces, nephews and close friends: Barbara Caux and Donna Silva both of Methuen, MA.
William was predeceased by his brothers Ronnie and Al Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 13th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception/Saint Mary's Mausoleum in Lawrence, MA. At the request of the family there are no calling hours.
