Rev. Henry L. Bryant, Sr., 97, of Tifton went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 10, 2012, at Tift Health Care. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, 2012, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Jerry Hewatt will officiate with a eulogy to be given by Pam Gaskins. Burial will follow in Enigma Cemetery. Mickey Bryant, Ross Waldrop, Zack Gillespie and Larry Luke will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 12, 2012, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Rev. Bryant was born on May 17, 1915 in Tift County and was the son of William Joseph Bryant and Leo Doss Bryant, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Rutherford Bryant; three sons, Henry Bryant Jr., Charles Bryant and Wayne Bryant; two grandsons, Beau Taylor and Charles Vernon Bryant Jr.; three sisters, Mary Hamm, Grace Luke and Clara Barnes; and one brother, Mack Bryant. He was a retired minister of the Pentecostal Faith and had been pastor of many churches during his ministry. He attended Unity Tabernacle Full Gospel Holiness Church.
Rev. Bryant is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and James Taylor of Tifton; two daughters-in-law, Sue Bryant and Patsy Bryant, both of Tifton; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
