Essex Junction, VT--Vincenza (Bellone) Giardino, 92, beloved wife of the late Charles Giardino, and former resident of Medford, MA, died peacefully at her Vermont home on May 11, in the company of some of her large and loving family.
Vincenza was born in Rieze, Sicily, on May 16, 1912, and came to the U.S. in the same year. Until she moved to Vermont in 2003, she lived in either East Boston or Medford. "Jamie" was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sibling. She was at her happiest when visiting with family and friends. She was a lover of good food and laughter, a gracious hostess, and was in her element when music and dancing were at hand.
She is survived by her sons Carmen Giardino and his wife, Alicia, of Clearwater, Florida, Joseph Giardino of Garnett, Kansas, her daughters Loretta Giardino of Rockland, MA, and Diane Garvey and her hiusband Sstephen of Essex Junction, VT. In addition, she is survived by her dear borthers and sisters and numeroous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A service celebrating her life and faith will be held on May 17 at 1 p.m. in the First Community United Methodist Church, 55 Otis St., Medford, MA. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett, MA. Visiting hours will be on May 16 from 4 thru 8 p.m. at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford.
