Obituary

Clinton Joshua Cade, age 81, died Saturday, August 4, 2012. He was born April 22, 1931 to the late Clemons Joshua and Zerelda Flemons Cade in Yalobusha County, MS. Clinton served as Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. He was a retired mechanic and welder by trade. Clinton was a member of Interfaith Chapel for many years, and a charter member of Springdale Family Worship Center in Water Valley, MS where he served on the Board, was active in building the educational building and was an active member of the music ministry with his friends Wesley Vanlandingham and Roy Mills. He loved his church and was an active and devoted member until his health deteriorated. Clint enjoyed southern gospel and country music and he played the bass guitar with the Bradley family. He was loved by his family and friends and will be missed. He had a strong faith in Jesus Christ, and to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 6, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS with Bro. Raymond Aven and Bro. David Roberson officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, MS with Chris Cade, Sonny Avant, Eddie Perkins, Bobby Cade and Clinton Avant serving as pallbearers.

Clinton is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pat Avant Cade of Water Valley, MS; three sons, Clinton James (Cheryl), David Lynn Cade (Lynn) and Ronnie Lee Cade (Jo Ann) all of Water Valley, MS; one sister, Betty Sue Cade Guillory (Lloyd) of Kenner, LA; one brother, Walter French Cade (Pat) of Clinton, MD; six grandchildren, Jennifer Cade Horn (Ron) of Okinawa, Japan, Christopher Cade and Brittany Cade both of Oxford, MS, Jacob Cade and Lyndal Witt both of Water Valley, MS; three great grandchildren , Joshua, Micha and Caleb Horn of Okinawa, Japan; a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Clinton was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Cade; three sisters, Mary Avant Goodnight, Mattie Lou Cole and Zunice Greenhaw and two brothers, Acie Mish Cade and Z. L. Bedwell.
