Anne M. (Pino) D’Angelo, 96, a lifelong resident of Norton, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent J. D’Angelo, to whom she was wed for 66 years at the time of his death on October 4, 2003.
Born in Norton, MA on September 25, 1915, she was dear daughter of the late Domenic and Tindra (Naise) Pino. She grew up in Norton and was educated in Norton public schools.
Anne, the matriarch of the D’Angelo family, served her family as a dedicated homemaker. She loved raising her family and providing them with a beautiful home, which relished the aroma of her exceptional cooking skills.
Mrs. D’Angelo was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton and was a former member of the Lady Catherine Circle.
Her favorite times spent were those in the presence of her adoring family, especially in later years with her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking for friends as well as her family.
She is survived by her devoted children, Diane LaSala of St. Petersburg, Florida and East Falmouth, Eileen Alessandri and her husband Michael of Needham, Carol Laidlaw of Norton, June Peck of Norton, Elena Nason and her husband Douglas of Norton and Joseph D’Angelo and his wife Karen of Mansfield. The dear sister of Rose Bell of Norton and the late Pauline Orford and Charles Pino, she is also survived by her treasured 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the loving grandmother of the late Stephanie Nason.
Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Friday, August 10th at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial will follow in the Norton Common Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 9th from 5-8 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
