BEVERLY: Michael L. Marcheterre, 55, died Thursday, August 2, 2012 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House following a long battle with multiple sclerosis.
Born in Beverly on June 18, 1957, he was the son of Benjamin and Patricia (Furnari) Marcheterre of Beverly. A lifelong resident of Beverly, Michael was a graduate of the Claude H. Patten Vocational High School class of 1975.
Michael was the owner and operator of The IDEA Group for many years. He had also once worked as a pattern maker for Santin Engineering for several years. He enjoyed lobstering in his younger years. He was also an avid aviator and loved to travel.
In additional to his parents, he is survived by a son, Michael Marcheterre; a daughter, Melissa Marcheterre; a sister, Leanne M. Barry; a brother, Jeff S. Marcheterre; four grandchildren, Devon, Austin, Brianna and Michael Marcheterre; two nieces, Rachel Barry and Sofia Marcheterre and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
His funeral service will be held on Tuesday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot St., Beverly at 9:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Monday evening from 5 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
