Obituary

GILFORD:

Arthur Stockhausen, 75, of Sargent Place, Gilford, died Wednesday morning, August 1, 2012, at his home.

He was born November 23, 1936, in New York City, NY, the son of the late Hans and Ella (Jordan) Stockhausen. He was educated in the NYC School System and was a long time resident of New York City until moving to Laconia in 1984, settling in Gilford in 2008.

Arthur was a Korean Conflict veteran, serving as a Laboratory Assistant with the 3610th USAF Hospital at Harlingen AFB, TX.

Prior to his retirement, he was self employed as a superintendant of several apartment buildings in New York City. After moving to Laconia, he was employed as the building supervisor of the Sunrise Towers for 3 years, then worked several years for Joyce Janitorial.

He loved everything that dealt with the space program and travel, and would watch anything on television related to the subject.

Arthur is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carol A. (Cusac) Stockhausen of Gilford; sons, Arthur Stockhausen Jr. of Merrimack and Sgt. 1st Class Roy A. Stockhausen of Ft. Hood, TX; grandsons, Matthew R. Stockhausen and Andrew H. Stockhausen both of Merrimack; a brother, Harry Stockhausen of Sandstone, MN; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Ruth Myers of NYC, NY.

There are no calling hours. Friends and relatives are invited to attend graveside services, with military honors, on Friday, August 10, 2012, at 10:30am, in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia.
