Pennington, Brian Thomas of Roslindale passed away peacefully on July 25, 2012 at Epoch Senior Living in Chestnut Hill. Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, October 24, 1948, to Walter and Patricia Pennington, Brian was a gifted athlete, avid sports fan and lover of the arts. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Michigan, Brian took a teaching position in Boston, primarily teaching and coaching at Boston English until his retirement in 2007. As a boy his athletic career was highlighted by playing catcher for the 1960 Little League World Championship team from Levittown, Pennsylvania, which also earned him the honor of meeting Red Sox legend Ted Williams. As an adult Brian was an avid, low handicap golfer. Brian is survived by daughters Christina and Andrea, brothers Kevin and Mark, and mother Patricia. A Memorial Mass for friends in the Boston area will be celebrated at Holy Name Church, West Roxbury on Monday September 3 at 8 AM. Interment will be in Havre de Grace, Maryland at a later date.
