Roxiemargaret Dalton Carr, 97, of Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford, MA, formerly of Lansing, MI, passed away on July 30, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late C. Colton Carr, Director of State of Michigan Laboratories. Born and raised in Lansing, MI, where she lived in the same house on N. Walnut Street for 87 years, Roxie graduated high school from Mount Mercy Academy in Grand Rapids and was a graduate of Mercy College Detroit. Roxie was active in the Lansing community as a member of the Vivian Society, a life member of Elks Lodge 196, the Floral Arts Club and the Downtown Historical Assoc. of Lansing. As a parishioner at St. Mary Cathedral, she was a member of the League of Catholic Women, the Catholic Women’s Club and The Altar Society, of which she was a past president. She was the loving mother of Ednah C. “Edie” Copenhaver of Chelmsford, MA, the dear sister of the late William Dalton, Helen Hennigar and her late husband Harold, and the aunt of Winona Kay Hobus of GA and the late Charles D. Carr. Roxie is further survived by her special friends Sr. Patricia Newhouse and Ann B. McGuigan. A Funeral Mass will be held at St Mary Cathedral Lansing Michigan at 10:00 AM on August 6, 2012. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Interment Deepdale Cemetery, Lansing MI. Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, August 5 from 2:00–5:00 PM in the Estes-Leadley Funeral Home 325 W.
