Dowe Strickland, 48, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, May 13, 2004, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M., Sunday, May 16, 2004, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with Rev. Jack Perrin officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00, Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Strickland was born November 25, 1955, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to Iris Williams Strickland and the late Homer Strickland. He lived in the community all of his life and was a former Brick Mason and Construction worker.
Mr. Strickland is survived by his daughter: Jessica L. Strickland, Fitzgerald; three grandchildren: Ariel Rains, Kevin Rains and Erik Strickland, all of Fitzgerald; mother: Iris Strickland, Fitzgerald; one sister: Lynn Sumner, Irwin County; grandmother: Annie Bell Williams, Fitzgerald; companion: Trellis Smith, Fitzgerald; nephew and niece: Brian Sumner, Irwin County and Kerri Eckstrand, San Diego, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Cook Strickland
