New Bedford – Stephen Mis, age 55, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday July 28, 2012. He was the loving father of Marianne Mis and grandfather of Lucas Rousseau both of Berkley, MA. Mr. Mis is also survived by his partner of 17 years Elizabeth Taylor, step-daughter Jenice Taylor both of New Bedford, step-son Christopher Taylor of Watertown, MA, brother Peter Mis of Berkley, MA, sister Cynthia Greiner of Winchester, MA, sister Paula Page of Dover, MA and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Mis was a son of Jennie (Twarog) Mis of New Bedford and the late Frederick Mis. He was born in New Bedford and has lived in this area all his life. Stephen worked as a carpenter and was a graduate of Greater New Bedford Vocational High School.
Mr. Mis’ service will be at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. at 10 A.M. on Friday. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery #2. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 5-8 P.M. Family and friends are invited.
