Irene D. (Medeiros) Morock, 86 of New Bedford died Friday July 27, 2012 at Sacred Heart Home. She was the wife of the late Joseph L. Morock.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Diaz) Medeiros, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
Mrs. Morock was formerly employed as a salesperson at Jeffrey's Apparel, and also had been a seamstress.
She was a member of the American Legion Post 307 Ladies Auxiliary and the 40 & 8 with her late husband.
She was happiest when spending time with her family. She would light up when she was around children. Swimming and dancing were also loves of hers. She will be missed by very many people, both young and old!!
Survivors include five sons, Robert Viera of California, Richard Viera of Ohio, Russell Viera of Wareham, Randall Viera and Raymond Viera, both of New Bedford; two daughters, Christine Viera and Barbara Dumas, both of New Bedford; three stepchildren, Bruce Morock of Mexico, Roberta Lomer and Kimberly Morock, both of Newton; a sister, Lydia Verissimo of Fairhaven; her former husband, Frank Viera, Jr. of New Bedford; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the grandmother of the late Chad Mourao, and sister of the late Joseph Medeiros, Matilda Barboza, and Elvara Mello.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 5-8 PM. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
