Rebecca Anne Pierce Ansley of Gorham, N.H. died of cancer July 25, 2012.
She was born March 1, 1937 and grew up in Norfolk, Virginia, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Carl R. Pierce. A 1959 graduate of Mary Baldwin College in Stanton, VA, she earned a Master of Arts in Library Science at the University of Pennsylvania, Clarion. She taught English and French at Woodsville, NH, High School and later served as a middle and high school librarian in Orford, NH, and Underhill, VT. She was a very active community leader in Haverhill, NH, and West Newbury, VT.
She is survived by her husband Rufus, her sons Mark of Hyde Park, VT, and Jason of Seattle, WA, and her granddaughter Vivian.
There will be no calling hours and only a private interment in West Newbury, VT.
