Obituary

Dusevitch, Charles Richard, in the early hours of July 24, 2012 Charles Richard Dusevitch passed away peacefully in his sleep after a brief illness. He was 82 years old. He is survived by his adoring wife, Louise (Ronzano) and his cherished daughters, Donna Thompson and son-in-law Joseph of Swampscott and Karen of Revere. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. He was the devoted son of the late Anna. He was also the son of the late Gennaro “Gerry Noyse” Selvitella.

Charlie was born and raised in the Old West End of Boston. However, it was early 1949 in the North End where he met Louise, the love of his life. A few years later, while on leave from the Army, he proposed to her on “the roof” where she lived. Within days they eloped and enjoyed a full and vibrant 59 year marriage. When they sang and danced together it was like the rest of the world fell away.
He courageously served in the Army during the Korean War as a Wolfhound. After 35 years in the USPS he enjoyed 20 years of retirement. He was a fixture for nearly half-a-century as a parking supervisor at Wonderland Dog Track. He was very sociable and made friends no matter where he went. He couldn’t walk into a store without running into somebody he knew.
Reading, especially history, mystery and science was a passion. His love of music saw no bounds as long as he could tap his foot to it. He was masterful as a chess player. From childhood on there was always a rescue cat or dog in the home. A package of love, laughter and family made his world go round. He was deeply loved by his family and will remain in their hearts forever.

At Charlie’s request memorial services and cremation were private.
