Joyce M. Strecker, 78, of Clarksville, TN, died on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at her residence. She was born on September 27, 1933 in Washburn, North Dakota. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Rueben M. Strecker; son, Dr. Rev. Michael John Strecker; daughter, Claudia Ann Strecker-Gilbert; brother, Clintin Strecker; and sister, Nadine Baranick.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Dr. John Laida officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 1-4 p.m. and Monday, July 30, 2012 from 12 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Joyce was a dedicated homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Clarksville. She was a pastor's wife and helped start eight churches. She was President of the Alliance Women for the Southern District. She was also a beloved Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebekah Joyce Strecker Trusty; brother, Marvin Strecker; sister, Sharon Roeder; and four grandchildren, Andrew Strecker, Candace Gilbert, Matthew Strecker, and Mary Elizabeth Trusty.
