Mrs. Eleanor L. Potvin a resident of Andover and beloved wife of Raymond G. Potvin, died on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, following a brief illness. She was 78 years old.
Born in Lawrence on March 30, 1934, she was the beloved daughter of the late Elias and Lena (Delaver) Weir. Mrs. Potvin was a real people person and was always interested in what her family and friends had going on in their lives. Eleanor also enjoyed Facebook to keep in contact with people, making quilts and exercising at the YMCA in Andover. Above all, Mrs. Potvin was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Besides her loving husband, Raymond, she will be very sorely missed by her loving children; Carol R. Potvin and her fiance, Robert A. Keizer of West Newbury, Barbara Ryan of Reading and Frank K. and his fiance, Mary Joan Pelletier of North Reading, grandchildren; Beau and Lee, siblings; Barbara Koslowski of Haverhill, John Weir of North Andover and the late Elias W. Weir and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service was celebrated in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Friday, July 27, at 11 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Calling hours were held on Thursday, July 26, from 4 to 8 PM. Burial was in the West Parish Garden Cemetery in Andover.
