Obituary

LEICESTER;John E. Grenier 88 of 7 Colonial Dr. in the Cherry Valley section of Leicester, died Friday, May 7 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He leaves his wife of 58 years, Anne Marie (Kah) Grenier, a son Alain P. Grenier and his wife Marcia A. Grenier of Worcester, a daughter Genevieve F. Grenier of Cherry Valley, three sisters Rose Jordan of Dalton, Ga., Sr. Jeanne Grenier S.S.A. in Dorval P.Q.,Can., and Annette Dutram of Northboro, two grandsons Justin and Marc Grenier of Worcester, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Grenier was a tool & die maker for Lodding Engineering in Auburn where he worked for more than 30 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of St. Pius X Church and a former member of Holy Name of Jesus Church in Worcester. He enjoyed metal and tool fabricating in his home following his retirement.Born in Bedford, P.Q., Can., he was the son of Elie and Clarinda (Santerre) Grenier. He served with the Royal Canadian Electrical & Mechanical Engineers of the Canadian Army during WWII.

The funeral will be held Tuesday May 11 from the MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME,1131 Main St., Leicester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St.Pius X Church, 1153 MainSt.,Leicester. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Monday from 5 to 7p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the New England Center for Children, 33 Turnpike Rd., Southboro, Ma. 01772.
