Obituary

HOLBROOK - William J.J. Dennett Jr., also known as "Billy D. the Iron Man", 59, of Holbrook, formerly of Quincy, Whitman and Bridgewater, died Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston after a brief illness.

Born in Dorchester, he was the son of the late William J. Sr. and Catherine A. (Morrissey) Dennett.

Mr. Dennett was a graduate of Whitman-Hanson High School.

He was a self-employed iron fabricator.

Mr. Dennett had resided in Holbrook for the past two years, and had previously lived in Quincy, Whitman and Bridgewater.

He was a beloved member of the South Shore Group and loved motorcycles.

He is survived by a daughter, Laura J. Cotti of Plymouth; a son, William K. Emilson of Plymouth; three brothers, Edmund of Vermont and Charles and John, both of New Hampshire; four sisters, Mary Perry of Stoughton, Ellen Donovan of Hanson, Barbara Cappello of Leominister and Elizabeth Carter or Carver; three grandchildren; a godchild; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was brother to the late Catherine Baker.

His funeral will be at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday from the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, followed by a funeral Mass at 12 noon in St. John's Church, East Bridgewater.
