Velma J. Parsons-Dennis, age 58 of Clarksville, TN, died on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Skyline Medical Center.
She was born on September 23, 1953 in Hopkinsville, KY to Dorris Stokes and Ruby Newcomb Stokes. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Stokes.
Memorial service will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 4 p.m., at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel, with Rev. Ryan Crosslin officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 from 2 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Velma was self-employed for over twenty years. Velma worked hard to raise two fine young men. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and daughter, and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her father, Dorris Stokes of Clarksville, TN; uncle, Howard of Clarksville, TN; two sons, Norman Eugene (Tara) Quirion, Jr. of Woodlawn, TN and Steven Ray Dennis of Clarksville, TN; brother, Charles E. (Dorothy) Stokes of Clarksville, TN; two sisters, Debbie (Don) Plaster of Clarksville, TN and Jackie (Doug) Benton of Midway, GA; four grandchildren, Kyle Y. Bartlett, Sadie L. Canady, Logan C. Dennis and Brooklynn R. Dennis.
